Jacking up a lowered mini

If you have a tyre go completely flat, the Mini's low to the ground stance becomes even lower, and the jack will not physically fit under the car.

There is an easy solution to this though, door stops. You need a fence post size piece of wood, maybe a foot long. Cutting this diagonally from edge to edge will produce two door stop like pieces of wood, which the mini can easily be pushed up on to, allowing the jack to fit underneath much more easily.

Also, when jacking the car up, NEVER use the sills or the sump, there are metal plates on the bottom of the subframe, on the front these are located on either side of the sump and are more than large enough for any kind of jack to mount on. Using these will ensure a much longer life for your engine mountings and the car's floor.
